Understanding Reports and Analytics
Monitor simulation usage, analyze performance, and review participant results with Cesura’s reporting tools. This guide explains the places results live — and which one to use.
The places results live
- An activity’s results page (inside its Space) — the results of everyone who took that specific activity: scores, completion, and each person’s full report. This is where you check how your participants did.
- Organization Management → Credits — account-wide usage and spend for the whole organization (credit pools, budgets, consumption over time). Open to organization admins.
- Your History — the simulations you ran yourself, for resuming or revisiting your own runs. It does not show other people’s results.
See your participants’ results (most common)
To see the results of the people who did a simulation, open its results page inside the Space:
- Open the Space that contains the activity and go to the Content tab.
- On the activity’s card, click Results. The Space Simulation Analytics page opens.
The results page shows headline stats (total runs, completion rate, average score, median time), a Participants table (name or "anonymous," date, time, score, status), a Grade Book, and Feedback, Quiz Analytics and Form Analytics breakdowns. Open any participant’s row to see their full report — conversation, feedback, and any quiz or form answers. For the full walkthrough, see Where to see your participants’ results.
Results for one group
If your organization uses groups, you can narrow results to a single group. On an activity’s results page, use Filter by group. On the space’s Results tab, which shows every member across all the space’s activities, use the Group filter. Both offer All groups, each group by name, and Unassigned for learners in no group.
A run counts toward a group when its learner belongs to that group, including ordinary attempts started inside the space. An instructor limited to selected groups sees only their own groups’ learners in every report.
Account-wide usage: Credits
For a view across everything your organization runs, open Organization Management from the main menu and go to Credits. Its tabs show the shared credit pool and its balance (Overview), consumption over a date range you choose (Consumption), and the six pools that spend it (Budget management). See Usage & Budgets: how organization billing works.
ⓘ There is also a Reports page in Cesura, but it is a Cesura-staff view and does not appear in your navigation. If an older article or a colleague points you at it, the Credits page is the one you want.
Your own runs: History
The History page shows the simulations you have run yourself — use it to resume a simulation you left in progress, or to revisit your own past runs and reports. History is not where you find other people’s results; it only contains your own sessions. To review participants’ results, use the activity’s results page in its Space (above).
Exporting
To work with results outside Cesura, open the activity’s ⋮ menu on the Content tab and choose Export Data — it offers three formats (see Exporting your data to Excel for research & analysis). For a single participant’s PDF, open their report and use Export PDF. See Exporting transcripts & reports.
Reading a cohort
Opening a participant’s report from a results table keeps you in the same tab, and the report header carries previous and next arrows, the participant’s name, and their position in the list — so you can read a whole cohort without going back to the table between each one.
Two rules shape the analysis itself:
- A criterion weighted at 0% is not ranked. It is on the report so learners know it is watched, not so the cohort is scored on it. It is left out of the automatic cohort analysis: its criterion list, per-run narratives and cohort statistics. It still appears on each report, in the Grade Book and in the criterion charts.
- Test-bot runs name their persona. Rows from automated test runs show the name of the persona the bot played.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I see the results of the people who did my simulation?
On the activity’s results page in its Space (Content tab → the activity’s Results button) — not in your personal History.
Can I see the decisions a participant made?
Yes — open that participant’s run from the activity’s Participants tab to read the full conversation and feedback.
Why is a participant shown as "anonymous"?
Anonymous links don’t collect identities. Add a short form at the start asking for a name or ID — see Identifying and tracking individual participants.
Can I leave my own test runs out of the averages?
Yes — exclude that participant on the Participants or Grade Book tab and their runs stop counting toward every average and chart (their row stays visible, flagged “Excluded”). See Excluding a participant from report averages.
What does credit consumption mean?
Credits are Cesura’s usage unit; each run uses credits, and the Credits page in Organization Management tracks usage against your plan. See Credits & billing.
How soon do results appear?
Usually within minutes of a session completing — refresh if you don’t see a recent run.
