A simulation link opens the Library instead of the simulation

If you open a simulation link and land in your Library — or you press Start Simulation and get sent back to the Library — instead of the simulation opening, the link you were given points to one specific person's session rather than to the shared activity. A session link only works for the person (and browser) that created it, so for anyone else it quietly falls back to the Library.

How to tell which kind of link you have

A correct participant link looks like this, with nothing after the activity ID:

https://app.cesura.ai/sim/<activity-id>

A personal session link has extra text after the address — usually /intro?run=…. If your link contains ?run=, it is a session link and will not open for anyone other than its original owner.

If someone shared the link with you

  • Ask the person who sent it to share the participant link instead (see Share a simulation with a link & QR code).
  • The link should start with https://app.cesura.ai/sim/ and have no ?run= on the end.
  • Open it in the browser you normally use. If the space asks you to sign in first, sign in, then open the link again.

If you are the one sharing the link

Don't copy the address out of your browser's address bar while you are inside a running simulation — that URL is tied to your session and won't work for your participants. Instead:

  1. Open your Space and go to the Content tab.
  2. Click the activity's Share button.
  3. Under Participant link, click Copy link.
  4. Paste that link into your email, chat message, or LMS.

Still not opening?

  • Check that the space's Access Level matches your audience — for an open link with no sign-in, use Anonymous (no sign-in). See How sharing works: spaces, activities & access levels.
  • If a correct /sim/ link still sends you to the Library, contact us from the Contact support row at the bottom of the sidebar so we can check the activity.
