General settings: name, language, image & access

The General section covers the simulation's identity and the rules for who can see it and what happens to learner data. It has two pages: General Info and Access & Privacy. (Once the simulation is saved, people who can edit it also see a Translations page here.)

General Info

The first page you land on. It holds the details that identify the simulation in your Library.

Name

Required — you cannot save until it is set. The simulation's title, shown in your Library and to learners. Make it a concrete description of the scenario rather than a broad category, so a learner immediately understands what they are stepping into.

Good: "Feedback conversation about repeated lateness in a dev team", "Calming an anxious patient before surgery". Weak: "Management", "Simulation 1".

Topic

The central subject area, used to classify and find the simulation in the Library. Pick one clear domain even if the content spans several — for example "Managing feedback conversations", "Medical communication", or "B2B sales".

Language

The language the simulation runs in. Choose it from the dropdown. (When you create with AI, you confirm the language during creation.)

Template Image

An optional cover image shown on the simulation's card in the Library. Click Select Media to upload your own, pick one from the gallery, or generate one with AI.

Access & Privacy

Controls who can open the simulation and how learner results are handled. Most options here only appear once you have saved the simulation — until then you will see a prompt to save first.

Manage Access

Opens a dialog where you grant specific people in your organization permission to view, run or edit this simulation. This is about who can edit the simulation — sharing it with learners is done separately with the Share button.

Advanced Privacy

A stricter privacy mode for sensitive simulations. When it is on, only the learner can see their detailed report and chats, and only for 24 hours. Instructors and space members see grades only. The page spells out exactly what each side sees:

  • Instructors see: the final / overall grade and per-criteria grades — but not the evaluation report text, the simulation chat, or the evaluator chat.
  • The learner sees: the full evaluation report, all chat histories, and a PDF download with full details.

Auto-Delete: with Advanced Privacy on, the learner has 24 hours to view their results and download a PDF. After that, chats and evaluation text are permanently deleted — only grades are kept. Forms are never affected.

Important: turning this on for a simulation that already has runs permanently deletes the older detailed data, so Cesura asks you to confirm first. This cannot be undone.

Global Template (administrators only)

Makes the simulation visible to every user across all organizations. Only system administrators see this option, and only on a saved simulation.
