Controlling what participants see in the report
You decide how much of the report each learner sees — from a full breakdown with scores, down to just the conversation. These options live in the simulation editor’s report/settings area.
Show or hide the feedback report
In the simulation editor, the Report Display tab has a Show to learner switch. When it’s off, learners don’t see the detailed feedback — but you, as the instructor, always can. Use this when you want learners to reflect on the conversation without seeing Cesura’s assessment.
Choose how grades are shown
When the feedback report is on, the same tab sets how grades appear, under Grade Display: Show Summary Grade for the overall grade and Show All Criteria Grades for every criterion:
- No grades — written feedback only, no numbers.
- Numeric grade (0-100) — a numeric score.
- Clustered grades with positive names — a named band instead of an exact number.
- Pass/Not Passed.
So if you want words instead of a number, set the grade display to No grades — you still get written feedback on each criterion.
Turn the feedback chat on or off
The feedback chat has its own Show to learner switch, on the Feedback Chat Intro tab. Turning it off removes the feedback chat; the feedback report is still available.
Show only the transcript
To give a learner the conversation without any assessment, turn Show to learner off on both the Report Display and Feedback Chat Intro tabs. Then, on the PDF Export tab, keep Allow PDF download on and turn on Include Simulation Chat. The learner downloads the transcript as a PDF from the last step of the report — useful when you want them to analyse it themselves. The report has no separate transcript page.
Choose the report’s steps
In the simulation editor, the Activity steps tab lists the steps of the learner’s report after the conversation. To leave a form, quiz or page out of the report, remove its step. The End step is always shown, so the report is never empty.
A form with no questions never blocks a learner. It shows “This form has no questions. You can continue.” and Next stays available.
The learner's debrief
If the simulation asks for a debrief, the write-up itself is not optional — every learner completes it before the report. You always see it on the report's Debrief tab, and hiding the feedback report does not hide or skip the debrief.
💡 These settings change what the learner sees. Instructors and space owners always have access to the full report and scores.
